IT Principal Software Engineer
AI Acceleration platform team is all about breaking new ground to enable & equip our customers to generate sophisticated new insights and provide solutions to the business challenges. What you’ll achieve
As an IT Principal Software Engineer, you will deliver products and improvements for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, you will craft and develop software for platforms, peripherals, applications and diagnostics — all with the most sophisticated technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and partnerships.
This position will merge software engineering, modern dev ops, data engineering and deployment at scale to help teams deploy algorithmic models that can optimize business and customer experiences at scale. The candidate will use technical knowledge and software development to build technology centric solutions for data as a service and will help accelerate the data solutions offering for all generative and traditional AI use cases for across Dell technologies.
You will:
• Lead changes in architectural direction, methodology or programming procedures, customer engagements, mentoring of developers, large projects that affect the organizations long-term goals and objectives
• Innovate through advanced research and development in the fields of Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, Deep Learning, implementing, and fine-tuning architectures using frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow to tackle complex ML problems.
Utilize a range of applicable technologies (e.g SME level knowledge in programming languages, data structures & problem solving skills other tools) for products used in local, networked, storage enhancements and/or new systems.
• Participate in product development in all stages from planning and design to development, testing, deployment and documentation.
• Define detailed workflows for corresponding use cases involved in Generative AI Projects and provide consulting and guidance to functions with developing strategic priorities and structure Business problems, including through business problem scoping workshops and driving documentation of as-is to be mapping

Essential Requirements
- Ability to apply extensive knowledge of application programming languages like Java, .NET, Python and databases (Postgres, Vector & Graph databases)
- Understanding of generative AI capabilities like Large Language Model , knowledge of Embeddings & vector similarities & foundational knowledge of RAG model for information retrieval.
- Experience with DevOps, Security tools, scans and vulnerability remediation (Gitlab, Synk,). Experience with Cloud Native Container platforms like Kubernetes, Container on Base Metal and Linux/Windows Server Operating Systems
- Experience in building API platforms and advanced knowledge of automated testing tools and procedures
- Advanced English level
Desirable Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computing engineering or computer science
